Hand-colored sixth-plate ambrotype in leather case of Elizabeth Anne Ladd Brown and her daughter, Ellen Elizabeth Brown (later Fayerweather), as well as an unidentified boy who may be her son, William G. Brown. The photograph was taken ca. 1854, and the photographer is unknown. A typescript label attached to the case identifies the two women.
